11 January 2023 Another Year of Record Heat for the Oceans, Lijing Cheng et al
Sea surface temperature, ocean heat content , ocean acidification and de-oxygenation are record high, increasing at record rates
Over 90% of added greenhouse gas emissions heat goes to the oceans. The rate is now equivalent to exploding 7 Hirosohima atom bombs every second
Accelerating ocean deoxygenation
Accelerating ocean acidification
Acidification is expressed as pH which is inverse
Record 2023 Sea surface
temperature increase
Accelerating ocean heat (content)
Ocean heat accelerating at all levels, now penetrating to the ocean floor
