The State of Our Climate

Oceans

Record High Temperatures in the Ocean in 2024
Sea surface temperature, ocean heat content, ocean acidification and de-oxygenation are record high, increasing at accelerating  rates
Over 90% of added greenhouse gas emissions heat goes to the oceans. The rate is now equivalent to exploding 7 Hiroshima atom bombs every second.
Ocean heat is a better climate change indicator than global warming
Accelerating ocean deoxygenation
Accelerating ocean acidification
Acidification is expressed as pH which is inverse

temperature increase
              Accelerating ocean heat (content)
Ocean heat is accelerating at all levels, now penetrating to the ocean floor
